PSA International achieved strong increases in 2010

Strong growth in 2010 and scenario of uncertainty about 2011 at the container terminals of PSA International

The port logistics enterprise PSA International (Singapore) is looking back on a successful year 2010. Amounting to 65.12 million TEU the total throughput was 14.4 per cent above last year’s figure. At the container terminals in Singapore 27.68 million TEU (up 10 per cent) were handled. Locations abroad accounted for the remaining 37.44 million TEU (up 17.8 per cent).

Eddie Teh, CEO of PSA International, expressed his satisfaction about this development in a press release. However he also referred to a slow-down of the growth at the end of the year 2010. From his point of view this burdens the outlook for 2011 with uncertainty.

PSA International operates container terminals in 28 ports in 16 countries in Asia, Europe and on the American continent. The biggest locations are in Singapore and Antwerp. The total capacity of the 66 kilometres quay facilities amounts to 111 million TEU per year.
